The great thing about LinkedIn is it’s very easy to find influencers because you can see people’s job titles. This is a great distinction from Facebook when it comes to marketing. Obviously the purpose of each of those sites are a lot different. Up until now they didn’t have any ads, so targeting influencers was a little involved. You could be active in groups you think they might frequent or reach out to them directly, although it helps you have a mutual connection.
The ads are pay-by-click or impression, like other sites.
